Technology including autosteer and plant genetics could have a big effect this year as the equipment completes more work in less time.

These megatrends underscore the fact that producers need to be more flexible moving forward, Farmers also need a growth strategy to survive”. Plan to grow by 6% per year.” To succeed, they need to examine risk management tools and educate young producers. In the past three years, futures and options usage fell, and those least likely to use the tools are young producers, who are used to corn priced $6 or higher.

Smart producers keep micro and macro changes in their mind’s eye because it allows them to remain competitive. More flexibility is needed moving forward, says Richard Brock, president of Brock Associates, a commodity marketing service that identified 10 emerging themes in agriculture in a recent report.

There are few changes in the agriculture sector that should be kept in mind while working in this sector:

1. Scarcity of resources

Scientists estimate that for each 1.8°F increase in temperature, key crop yields drop 10%. Climate change has always brought challenges in the field of agriculture. As the temperature rises so is the decrease in water level. The irrigation level is affected by it. So the workers in agriculture should always be aware of this fact which has been a matter of concern since years.

2. Biotechnological interventions

The invention of GMOs and other technology in agriculture is increasing day by day which is leading to the massive input of new technologies which needs to be watched and kept eye on. This continuous review of new inventions in the field of technology will no doubt pave the way to progress.

3. Technological changes

The new techniques like Artificial intelligence has brought so much convenience in the field that it has now become so easy to predict the pest infection in your crop very early. Number of apps have been developed which no doubt enhance the way of living of our farming community.

4. Changing commodity status

The current status of commodities should be kept in watch especially the market trends in commodities so that one can invest accordingly. The ratio of soybean to corn and other crops in a similar way can be helpful in setting up your prices in the market. The details regarding the export and import fall under this category which has to be given due importance.

5. Livestock treatment

Consumer demand and regulatory insistence on a range of safeguards for raising livestock in ways deemed sustainable and humane are causing rapid changes in the food system. Large food companies and supermarket chains are phasing out the use of sow farrowing crates from their supply chains. The change also has been forced by state legislation.

6. Regulations in the use of pesticides

It should be followed at any cost to get an effective result in the fields and thus saving the population from maleffects of these chemicals

7. New Government policies

One of the most important aspects to be kept in mind in order to row at your own. This will not only enhance the growth of the farmer but will also increase the overall economic production.

8. The shift in livestock population:

Livestock is an important part of agriculture and keeping the data of livestock can give you the situation of agricultural growth.

9. Specialized agriculture.

Now farmers instead of doing plane farming are more focused towards organic agriculture and other specialized agriculture forms like non-GMO products, high-oleic soybeans and high-starch corn.

10. Shifting farm size:

The smaller structure of farms are more inside story and farms are now shifted to younger generations from their ancestors, which can be the area of interest among the farming community and should be kept watching.
