NIRDPR to Host Training for Incorporating Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture

National Institute of Rural Development (NIRDPR) is organizing a residential training programme to familiarize the participants with the idea of gender sensitivity and gender justice in nutrition and expose participants to innovative strategies and best practices to promote Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture. It also aims to sensitize the stakeholders from the gender perspective of agriculture and its linkage to nutrition.

The Institute is looking forward to nominations from senior and mid-level Trainers and Officers from the Planning, Policy, and Coordination Divisions of various Departments of the Government of India for this unique training programme being organized at NIRDPR.”

The NIRDPR’s training programme will incorporate lessons on the concept of gender and gendered analysis of nutrition in rural India and strategies/interventions of improving and promoting nutrition-sensitive agriculture by empowering women farmers.

The programme is intended for senior and mid-level officials from the departments of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Health and Family Welfare, Women and Child Development, Integrated Child Development Services, Agriculture, and faculty from State Institutes of Rural Development.

The training methodology will include lectures, group discussions, field visits in addition to participatory group exercises, and more.

The Centre for Gender Studies and Development at the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) is organizing a five-day national training programme on strategies for mainstreaming gender in Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture.

The programme seeks to familiarize the participants with the idea of gender sensitivity and gender justice in nutrition and expose participants to innovative strategies and best practices to promote Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture. It also aims to sensitize the stakeholders from the gender perspective of agriculture and its linkage to nutrition.

This residential training programme will be held from 13th – 17th August 2018 at the NIRDPR campus in HyderabadThere is no course fee for the participants sponsored by the central and state governments. The last dates to file nominations is 5th August 2018.
