Cargill to invest $20 Million to Establish Premix Plant in Kota

The US food major Cargill has announced plans to invest dollar 20 million for establishing a Greenfield premix plant to manufacture animal nutrition products and supplement in Rajasthan’s Kota. The company said that the plant will be built on 15 acre at Tathed village in Kota city.

The US food major Cargill has announced plans to invest dollar 20 million for establishing a Greenfield premix plant to manufacture animal nutrition products and supplement in Rajasthan’s Kota. The company said that the plant will be built on 15 acre at Tathed village in Kota city.  

Simon George, Cargill India President said, "The investment is part of Cargill's dollar 240-million commitment made in November 2017 through a MoU with Indian Ministry of Food Processing Industries".

The company’s planned investment supports the development of the industry, farmers and communities in and around the city.

Cargill said, "It will also assist the animal husbandry sector that includes livestock farmers, by creating over 150 jobs in the district with both direct and indirect employment in the next 3 to 5 years".  

It is important to mention that Cargill Animal Nutrition is a global business division within the Cargill and has around 23,000 employees with 280 facilities in 40 nations, serving consumers in more than 100 countries.

In India, Cargill's animal nutrition business provides the poultry, dairy, shrimp and fish farmers with value-added products and services in nearly every state.

The company sells its products under some of the well-known animal health and nutrition brands such as UTPP, Bestmin Gold and G-promin.

Cargill started operations in India 32 years back i.e. in 1987. The company has businesses in food ingredients, cotton, animal nutrition, refined oils, grain and oilseeds, bio-industrial and trade structured finance.
