Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV). Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus that had not been previously identified in humans. An illegal wildlife and meat market of Wuhan is considered as the epic center of this global pandemic which has infected 138,000 people worldwide and takes the lives of at least 5,000 people so far.

Officials said that 2 women have tested positive for coronavirus in Mumbai metropolitan region. 1 woman had come back from the UK and the other had returned from Dubai. Now the number of cases in Maharashtra has reached 47.

9.30 AM: As per latest reports as many as 50 international flights while 34 domestic flights have been cancelled at Chennai Airport.

A 28-year-old woman from Pune who came from the Netherlands and France has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a senior official. With this, the number of Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra has gone up to 42.

District Magistrate of Gurugram has asked all IT Firms, MNCs, BPOs, Industries, and Corporate offices to allow their staff to work from home till 31 March 2020 after the rising cases of Coronavirus in the country and also as a preventive measure.
