Covid-19 Lockdown: SBI, HDFC, Axis & ICICI Banks Offering Doorstep Banking Facilities; Read Eligibility & Important Details

The government has imposed strict movement regulations amid covid-19 lockdown in the country. The bank account holders are also facing trouble as they are unable to visit their bank branches or ATMs to withdraw cash for daily needs, especially in the rural areas.

The government has imposed strict movement regulations amid covid-19 lockdown in the country. The bank account holders are also facing trouble as they are unable to visit their bank branches or ATMs to withdraw cash for daily needs, especially in the rural areas.

However, the top banking institutions such as State Bank of India (SBI), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, & Axis Bank will now give the essential services. They will provide doorstep banking services, which includes cash delivery. But, service charges of their per-visit for financial and non-financial transactions are Rs 100 & Rs 60 (excluding GST).

Some important things you must know about SBI's Doorstep Banking (DSB) Services:

1) This banking service includes cash pickup, cash delivery, cheque pickup, cheque requisition slip pickup, form 15H pickup, life certificate pickup, KYC documents pickup, delivery of term deposit advice, delivery of drafts.

2) You simply need to make your service request at toll free number 1800111103 between 9 am to 4 pm on working days at the centre.

3) The service request for registration will be done at the home branch.

4) The SBI Doorstep banking service is available to only fully KYC-compliant customers.

5) There will be service charges per visit for non-financial transactions (Rs 60+GST) & (Rs 100+GST) for financial transactions

6) The cash withdrawal and cash deposit amount is restricted to ₹20,000/-per transaction per day.

7) Account holders who have a valid registered mobile number within 5 Km radius of their home branch can avail these services.

8) Customers whose accounts are operated jointly will not be able to get these services.

9) These doorstep services will not be available for minor account & accounts of non- personal nature.

10) Withdrawal is permitted by using cheque/withdrawal form with passbook.

SBI doorstep banking services working process:

  • Firstly, SBI customers who want to avail this door-step delivery service must call at toll free number 1800111103 between 9 am to 4 pm on working days from their registered mobile number.

  • After the call is connected, customer has to input last 4 digit of savings bank/current account number for which doorstep banking service is registered.

  • There will be initial verification, after that the call will be forwarded to Contact Centre Agent. Second or more verification will be done. Then, your request will be recorded.

  • The customer must provide the detail of request and preferred time of service delivery (9am to 5 pm).

  • The customer will get an SMS with Case ID and request type, once the request is accepted.

  • The request will be forwarded to Doorstep Banking Agent who will contact the customer and appointment will be fixed.

  • At the provided time, the Doorstep Banking Agent (DSA) will visit the registered address of the customer and show his Photo ID card and officially valid document (OVD).

  • He will verify the identity of customer by Photo ID and OVD of the customer.

  • The service request shall be initiated in the Doorstep Banking web portal in the mobile carried by the DSB Agent. Customer shall input Case ID & Verification Code in the web portal to start the transaction.

  • The customer will get SMS once transaction is done.

Likewise, other banks such as HDFC, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra and ICICI Bank are also offering doorstep banking services to customers. You must read their terms & conditions before availing them.
