Grafted Vegetable Seedlings Gives Four Times More Production

Hon`ble  Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu visited India’s First Indo-Dutch Project Centre of Excellence for Vegetables (COE). Dr. Syed Shakir Ali, Head & Senior Scientist, KVK Baramati briefed about this project including its implementation & given information about the Dutch technology for Colored Capsicum cultivation which results in doubling the farmer's income through various innovative aspects & given answers to the questions asked by Hon. Vice President of India.

Likewise, Mr. Yashwant Jagdale, SMS(Horticulture), Mr. Sandeep Babar, Mr. TusharJadhav explained & given the information regarding Dutch technologies viz Hydroponics, Automation, Residue Free Production of Vegetables, Climate Control, IPM & INM, Grafted Vegetable seedlings nursery implemented at COE, Baramati, which can give 4 times more Production than the normal production technologies. Hon. Shri. Sharadchandra Pawar, Former Union Agricultural Minister, M.P. (Rajya Sabha) & Shri. Rajendra Pawar, Chairman & Trustees of Agricultural Development Trust, Baramati Welcomed the Guest.

Later on, Hon. Vice President has taken information about Center of Excellence for Genetic Improvement (CoE Dairy) where Dr. Dhananjay Bhoite, In-charge, COE Dairy & Dr. Ratan Jadhav, SMS(Vet. Science) through a model given brief information about the project.

Then after Hon. Vice President visited different facilities of KVK  & took the information about Soil Testing Laboratory & Bio Control Laboratory. Mr. Vivek Bhoite, SMS(Soil Science), explained regarding Soil samples, Soil Health Card Mission Project implemented at KVK. In Bio Control Laboratory Dr. Milind Joshi, SMS(Plant Protection) gave information about Plant Health Clinic, Bio Products & Bio Pesticides, Safer use of pesticide & Beekeeping.

At Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC) Dr. Syed Shakir Ali, Head & Senior Scientist have given detailed information about all the activities conducted by KVK Baramati including its facilities whereas Mr. Santosh Godse, SMS(Agril Exten.)explained ICT in Agriculture, KRUSHIK Mobile App & Use of media for reaching to unreached.

Mr. Nilesh Nalawade, CEO, ADT Baramati Welcome Hon. Vice President of India & introduce all the dignitaries in the conference hall. Mr. Rajendra Pawar, Chairman, ADT Baramati. felicitatedHon. Vice President by offering memento & 25 years book while Mr. Ranjeet Pawar, Trustee, ADT Baramati Welcome Hon. Mr. Girish Bapat, Guardian Minister of Pune. After this, a video film on 25 Years Journey of KVK Baramati towards farming community has been shown to Hon. Vice President of India &other dignitaries.

Hon. Vice President also visited Atal Tinkering Lab & interacted with the students, our future young scientist & also interacted with students from the College of Agriculture, Baramati regarding various courses run by ADT, Baramati. In addition to this Mr. Nilesh Nalawade, CEO, ADT Baramati & his staff has given information about ATAL Incubation Centre which has been sanctioned by NITI Aayog, Govt. of India.

During his interaction with media & in the remark book Hon. Vice President appreciated the dedicated work done by KVK for the farming community. He expressed that Agricultural Development Trust’s KVK is a wonderful centre. He is very much impressed. This can be said to be as a Model KVK for all the other KVK, KVKs cross the country must-visit for Live Knowledge,  Good Work Development which has been done by KVK Baramati.

All the staff of ADT’s KVK Baramati has done excellent work & appreciation goes to the whole team were the kind words given by Hon. Vice President of India.
