The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is organizing a state level Kisan Samridhi Mela (Farmer`s Fair for Prosperity) during 24-26 August 2018 in collaboration with SAUs and ICAR Institutes in Tamil Nadu state at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore. The ICAR has played a pioneering role in ushering Green Revolution and subsequent developments in agriculture in India through its research and technology development that has enabled the country to increase the production of food grains by 5.4 times, horticultural crops by 10.1 times, fish by 15.2 times, milk 9.7 times and eggs 48.1 times since 1951 to 2017, thus making a visible impact on the national food and nutritional security. In line with the Hon`ble Prime Minister`s vision of `Doubling the Farmer`s Income by 2022`, the Hon`ble Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers` Welfare, Shri Radha Mohan Singh has decided to organize this mela during August 24-26, 2018.
The events during the mela will be exhibitions, video shows, interactive seminars and field visits. Manufacturers of farm machineries, agro chemicals, bio-products, firms involved in micro-irrigation, aquaculture, animal husbandry, agro forestry, horticulture, seed production, nurseries, private entrepreneurs, private dealers, farmers` organizations etc. are invited to showcase their products and services during this mela. Retailers, service providers and publishers are invited to set up sale points. Open space in the exhibition hall will also be made available for demonstrations and exhibiting machineries and implements.
A large number of farmers and personnel from different parts of Tamil Nadu are expected to visit the mela and putting up an exhibit will provide an excellent opportunity to expose your products, services and technologies to the potential customers.
