Agri Bank within the Bank is expected the outcome of the two days conclave, which shall be the road for High Tech and Smart Farming. A two days Agriculture Conclave has been organized by Punjab National Bank at Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi.  The Conclave was inaugurated by Sh. Sunil Mehta, Managing Director & CEO, Punjab National Bank. More than 900 Agriculture Officers of PNB across the country are participating in this GRANDUTSAV.

On the occasion, four new schemes viz. Farm House construction & repair, Orchard Purchase, Vehicle purchase for Agriculturist and Smart mobile phone under Dugdh Vikas Yozna were launched. 

Two Handbooks one on Agriculture Schemes & the other on Financial Inclusion were also launched during the event. 

While discussing on the theme, Dr. Padha, General Manager said that Young minds are like sponges and they are looking for the right input to soak it in and this conclave is an attempt to synergize the pool of High-tech Agriculture Officers of Bank with the ample opportunities available in Agri Financing scenario.

Shri Sunil Mehta, Managing Director &CEO, while interacting with the young Agri Bankers said that Great things happen when there is a gathering of great minds.

Shri  Mehta talked about the changing landscape of rural India with a remark that farming is not merely a source of livelihood but more technically it is a kind of business. The real future of farming isn’t growing plants or animals; it’s growing businesses. The When, where and how of paradigm shift of agriculture towards High-Value Agriculture that opens lots of financing avenues was elaborated by him.

Shri Mehta, MD & CEO said that the youth Agri talent has the power to change the face of Agriculture and drive the Government’s ambitious mission of “Doubling farmers’ income by 2022”.
