Theatre events rule the stage in GADVASU Youth Festival

One act plays on different issues of life were showcased in the ongoing youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. The day was reserved for theatrical events like Mime, Mimicry, Mono Acting, Skit and One Act Plays. Smt. Kanwaljit Kaur Nanda, wife of Dr. Amarjit Singh Nanda, Vice-Chancellor was Guest of Honour in the session. One Act Plays showcased the adversities of different Social issues and also highlighted miseries of life. Play ‘Jiwan Hai Ik Dor’ written by Kumar Sagar highlighted the exploitation in Surrogacy cases. Play ‘Is Jagah Ik Pind Si’ written by Jagdish Sachdeva was based on the subject of division of India in 1947. The play showed the courage of a Muslim youth to save the inmates of other religion of his village. Spectators witnessed mental and physical trauma of aged senior citizens. A touching life of senior citizens home was acted on the stage in the play 'Mukti' written by Kumar Sagar. Play 'Nag Mandal' written by Girish Karnad highlighted the problem of a newlywed lady whose husband is not in love with her. His mental and physical situation was staged in the play. Play 'Main Bhagat Singh' written by Pali Bhupinder narrated the struggle of downtrodden masses of the society. Play gave a different the mention to the philosophy of S. Bhagat Singh. Play 'Mitti de Rishtey' expressed the broken relations of the family in the materialistic world. Division of ancestral land was behind the clash. It was written by Amandeep Moni. The venue of these events was open air theater PAU.
