Vet Varsity signs MoU for Egg Processing Technology

Department of Livestock Products Technology, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana has transferred the technology of Egg Paneer to Proprietor Mr Sandeep Khullar M/S Ashna Petrobiz, Kaushambi, Ghaziabad. The technology has been transferred on non-exclusive/multiple user basis. A Memorandum of Understanding has been entered between GADVASU and firm in the presence of Dr A.S. Nanda, Vice- Chancellor, GADVASU. Dr Nanda applauded the efforts of scientists in developing a link with the entrepreneurs. He has given stress on industry oriented research. There is an urgent need to develop the technologies as per the requirement of industry and farmers. He insisted that the feedbacks on the product should be gathered from the end users, which will be instrumental in improving our technologies. Dr Manish Chatli HoD informed that on marketing of these products, the firms will mention a caption “Technology developed by GADVASU, Ludhiana” on the package. GADVASU has already transferred 18 different technologies including egg sauce, variety of egg jams, egg sauce, egg nuggets, Health oriented meat products, Emu meat products, chicken meat snack products, meat croquette, shelf stable pork pickle etc. to various entrepreneurs, which are being marketed all over India and helpful in building the brand name of GADVASU. It is pertinent to mention that department of LPT has conducted research in pioneer areas of meat processing, quality control and value addition of meat and eggs. The pioneer work on biodegradable packaging films has already been recognised at many forms. The standardized technologies are ready for transfer for nutritious meat based biscuits and meat wadi with a protein content of 27-30% and has storage life of more than 6 months at room temperature condition ,Chatli added. Dr J.P.S. Gill, Director of Research, GADVASU and Dr Harish Verma, Director Extension Education congratulated the scientists and said that this is a recognition of industry oriented applied research work carried out by GADVASU. They further asserted that GADVASU has many other technologies on animal health management, animal nutrition and many other aspects of animal husbandry, which can be useful for the farmers.
