The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain and thunderstorm alert across the Northern region including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Bihar for the next 24 hours. Moreover, the monsoon trough at mean sea level now runs near its normal position and it is very likely become more marked after 24 hours. Under its influence, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls very likely over parts of northwest India during next 4-5 days, says weather forecast.

Isolated extremely heavy falls also very likely over Konkan during the next 24 hours; Gujarat region during 04th-06th July and Saurashtra & Kutch during next 04 day.

Intense thunderstorm & lightning potential zone

Moderate to intense thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Jammu division, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, north Konkan, north Madhya Maharashtra, north Marathwada and Kerala during next 12 hours

A cyclonic circulation lies over Westcentral & adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off north Coastal Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coast and extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level.It is most likely to cause fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thundershower activity along with isolated heavy to very heavy falls over east & adjoining parts of central India during next 4-5 days.

Maximum & Minimum Temperature

Maximum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over West Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad and at isolated places over Haryana while minimum temperatures are appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over West Rajasthan; at a few places over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad.
