Silage

A type of animal feed made from crop plant green foliage that has been preserved through the fermentation and storage process known as ensilage, ensiling, or silaging. This process usually entails piling and compressing a lot of cut green vegetation in an area with little oxygen, like a pit, silo, or a bale that has been tightly wrapped in plastic film. Silage is often produced utilizing the entire green plant, such as maize, sorghum, or other grains (not just the grain).
