A broad-spectrum pesticide is a potent pesticide that kills whole groups or species of organisms known to be harmful to plants. A non-selective pesticide is another name for a broad-spectrum insecticide.

It interferes with neuronal activity in insects by binding to the site of action. It is classed as a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) allosteric activator by IRAC.
The active component in Konatsu is 'Spinetoram 11.7% SC.' It is made by fermenting Saccharopolyspora spinosa (a common soil bacteria) and then synthetically modifying it to increase its stability and activity in the field. It belongs to the spinosyn class of insect control agents.
