Face to Face: Insights from 'MukhaMukham' with Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's 'MukhaMukham' (face-to-face)
event took place at the Camelot Convention Centre in Alappuzha, Kerala, with the presence of
over 2000 farmers as part of the Navakerala Mission
More than 50 farmers interacted with the CM and shared their issues
related to wage revision, job security, and the need for better living conditions for farmers
and farm workers. The open forum overall highlighted the importance of strengthening the
agricultural sector
CM Pinarayi Vijayan addressed the farmers and said that the government
is trying to increase the production and productivity of Kerala's agricultural sector to further
boost farmers' income with new technologies and necessary infrastructure in connection with the
cooperative sector
Numerous agricultural experts participated in the discussion, including
Dr. Madhura Swaminathan, Professor (HAG) at the Indian Statistical Institute, who delightedly
cited this as 'Participatory Democracy' where the government is on a mission to uplift the
farmers
Kerala's Agriculture Minister P. Prasad presided over the discussions,
where he stated that the state government has started working towards the spread of value-added
products and has also initiated the 'KERA' project worth Rs 2,375 crore
Successful farmer Roy Anthony from Wayanad was honoured at the event,
where he expressed his challenges and experiences as a progressive farmer in Kerala
