Maha Kumbh
Mela 2025 is expected to host over 400 million
devotees over six weeks, making it a global
phenomenon of faith and devotion.
The grand Mahakumbh Mela
began on January 13, drawing millions of pilgrims
for rituals and holy dips. The spiritual event will
conclude on February 26.
The Kumbh Mela is designated
as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO,
celebrating its cultural and spiritual significance
worldwide.
Millions gather to take a
holy dip in the Ganges during the festival on key
dates: Makar Sankranti (14 Jan), Mauni Amavasya (29
Jan), Basant Panchami (3 Feb), Maghi Purnima (12
Feb), and Maha Shivaratri (26 Feb).
UP Govt, in collaboration
with MyGov, has launched an educational quiz
competition. The top three winners will receive
prizes of Rs. 20,000, Rs. 15,000, and Rs. 10,000,
respectively.
Beyond its
spiritual significance, the festival revitalizes
local economies and serves as a platform to showcase
India’s vibrant heritage and culture to the
world.
