Sachin Tendulkar's father, Ramesh Tendulkar greatly admired the Indian music icon Sachin Dev Burman, which inspired him to name his son after him.

Sachin served as a substitute fielder for Pakistan during a practice match against India in 1988.

In 1995, Sachin attained the status of the wealthiest Indian cricketer when he inked a 31.5 crore deal with World Tel.

Sachin's coach and mentor, Ramakant Achrekar, rewarded him with a coin for completing a net session without getting dismissed. Sachin earned a total of 13 such coins.

Apart from sports, Sachin enjoys listening to music. He admires Indian singer Kishore Kumar and also follows the rock band Dire Straits.

Sachin holds the distinction of being the youngest recipient and the sole cricketer to receive the esteemed "Bharat Ratna," India's highest civilian honor.
