Global Value Chain: Backward & Forward Integration

ASSOCHAM is organizing series of sessions under the theme  "Global Value Chain: Backward & Forward Integration" from 24- 26 August 2021 as a three days virtual meet.

This virtual meet would attract experienced stakeholders’ participation from around the globe including policy makers, manufacturing companies, research organizations, technology enablers, MSMEs etc.

Why to Participate?

  • As we know, Covid-19 pandemic has exposed us all to adversities of complete dependence on external trade supplies to support domestic manufacturing. Disruptions in global supply chain, severely impacted indigenous manufacturing value chains, in some cases almost irrevocably.

  • These disruptions have created much hue and cry to diversify the existing supply chain and causing companies to explore and discover newer options for sourcing and manufacturing. In case of India, it would generate host of opportunities to enter the $1-trillion manufacturing base for domestic consumption, as well as shape its global manufacturing value chain for exports.

  • Taking this into consideration of enabling factors and aspiration to become the alternate sourcing destination for the world, India’s focus to deliver competitive advantage, build resilience in the face of global disruption, developing of innovative supply chain network etc. which will help to build a robust supply chain ecosystem for new manufacturing businesses.

  • A strategic integration of the national supply chain network together with Prime Minister’s vision for Make in India, can boost the share of manufacturing in real GDP to 25 per cent while taking direct employment generation to about 33 per cent and ASSOCHAM has been supporting and advocating the Vision for Make in India.
