ISC- FICCI Sanitation Awards and the India Sanitation Conclave, which will be held on the 10th and 11th of November 2021 via a virtual medium from the FICCI office at New Delhi. The theme for this year’s event is "Sanitation, Gender and the Impact of COVID".
On both days the events will be held from 12 noon till 6.30 pm. There are a few ministers, FICCI President, FICCI General Secretary, Government Principal Secretaries, ISC Chairperson, ISC CEO, and other prominent speakers who will participate in the 2-day event. There are fireside chats, panel discussions, compendium releases, awards presentations, etc.
Importance of Sanitation:

Sanitation is one of the most important aspects of community well-being because it protects human health, extends life spans, and is documented to provide benefits to the economy. Sanitation (e.g. toilets, latrines, mechanized wastewater treatment) is currently deployed as a way to contain and/or treat human excreta (and in some cases greywater) to protect human health and the environment.

Improved sanitation leads to lower disease burden, improved nutrition, reduced stunting, improved quality of life, increased attendance of girls at school, healthier living environments, better environmental stewardship, increased job opportunities and wages, improved competitiveness of cities.
