“Connect to farmers”, a series of 200 seminars organized by Krishi Jagran throughout India to carry the message of Prime Minister’s mission to “Double the Farmers' Income” began at Trivandrum. In association with Krishi Bhoomi, a facebook public group, the seminar was held at Cotton Hill School, Thiruvananthapuram. The seminar was inaugurated by V.S Shivakumar MLA. The MLA officially unveiled the new logo of Krishi Jagran on the occasion.In his inaugural speech, he emphasized the importance of small scale organic agriculture. He appreciated Krishi Jagran for its dedicated efforts in creating awareness among the farmers about agriculture through seminars and exhibitions. Kiran K Krishna, Krishibhoomi group admin had given the welcome speech. M.C Dominic, Managing Director, Krishi Jagran delivered the key note address. Ajith Kumar V.R, Regional Head Southern States, Krishi Jagran and Suresh Muthukulam, Editor, Krishi Jagran felicitated the programme. At the end of the inaugural session, Saritha Reghu, Marketing Executive, Krishi Jagran extended vote of thanks to one and all.Mini. K. Rajan, Principal Agriculture Officer, presided the seminar

After the inaugural session, Roy Issac, Agriculture Officer, Mallappally led the seminar on “Beneficial pests for the organic farming”. It was an interactive session attended by 150 farmers. During the session, Roy Issac informed the gathering about the benefits and techniques of using beneficial pests in organic farming. Farmers expressed their experiences in organic farming and cleared their doubts. In the concluding session, Jisha. V, Manager, NABARD led an informative seminar on “Banking services for farmers”. She highlighted possibilities of banking services for farmers and outlined the activities of NABARD.
