Every year, we take a day out of the calendar to celebrate and increase the awareness of the important work done by environmental health workers and inspire people to contribute to the protection of our environment.
World Environmental Health Day was established by the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) on September 26, 2011. Since then, this important day is observed every year on September 26.
World Environmental Health Day 2022: Theme
This year World Environmental Health Day will be celebrated under the theme ‘Strengthening Environmental Health Systems for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals’.
In order to reduce poverty, safeguard the environment, and guarantee that by 2030 everyone can live in peace and prosperity, the United Nations approved the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015.
