Parkash thanked all delegates for their attendance during the opening session on March 30. Union Minister Som Parkash said that discussions at the agriculture working group's second Agriculture Deputies Meeting (ADM) will focus on forging a consensus on the way forward for the sector's growth.

The 3-day G20 agricultural working group conference began on March 29, with members examining topics such as sustainable agriculture, food security, and nutrition with a climate-smart approach. The meeting is attended by delegates from 19 member countries, 10 invited countries, and 10 international organizations.

Parkash thanked all delegates for their presence during the opening session on Thursday. According to an official release, the Union Minister of State for Trade and Industry emphasized the need of successful discussions on the proposed communique. "The meeting's discussion will focus on creating consensus on the way forward for agricultural sector growth, and I am certain that we will succeed."

"We must collaborate in the spirit of 'One Earth, One Family, and One Future' to address the difficulties of the global agriculture landscape and secure the sector's long-term growth," he stated. At the second ADM, member countries will focus on drafting the statement, which will address four theme areas: food security and nutrition, climate-smart agriculture, inclusive agricultural value chains and food systems, and digitization for agricultural transformation.

The second ADM is expected to set the framework for a consensus on the path forward for agricultural growth, with the communique serving as a road map for addressing the global agriculture scenario's problems and opportunities.
