EPFO Launches New Tools to Correct Errors Online, Including 'Delete Application' Feature

The EPFO has introduced an online correction tool and two new features allowing beneficiaries to delete and resubmit their application forms for higher pension benefits under the EPS scheme. These features aim to reduce errors, and delays, and make the application process more convenient for beneficiaries.

According to media sources, the EPFO has received numerous requests from pensioners and members for an online correction facility to rectify errors in their applications for validation of option/join option to file uploads. In response to this, the EPFO has provided a 'Delete Application' button in the online functionality for employees.

According to the EPFO, employees can delete their application and submit a fresh one with accurate details and upload it for validation of option/joint option.

If any errors are found, pensioners can use the 'Delete Application' button to remove their EPFO application online. Once the application has been deleted, EPFO members can submit a new application form. However, the EPFO cautions that the 'Delete Application' option should only be used if the employer has not started processing the employees' Application for Validation of Option/Joint Option. These measures are part of the EPFO's online correction system to help pensioners and members ensure the accuracy of their applications.

The EPFO has granted a second extension to the deadline for applying for a higher pension under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) until June 26, 2023. The extension has been provided in response to numerous requests from pensioners/members and their associations and is intended to provide them with adequate time to apply and address any difficulties they may face. The Labour Ministry made this announcement in a statement, stating that the decision was taken after a careful review of the demands from employees and businesses.
