First-Ever Agri Legal Aid Clinic Inaugurated in Telangana Today

With the support of the Nalsar University of Law, the TS Legal Services Authority (TSLSA) launched the first-ever Agri Legal Aid Clinic today in Telangana in Bammera village in Palakurthy mandal in Nalgonda district today.

It aims to educate and create legal awareness among the farmers on several laws and prove beneficial for them as welfare schemes are also planned for their overall upliftment.

This clinic will be operated by the upskilled Para Legal Volunteers (PLV) of the Legal Services Institutions who will educate and create legal awareness among farmers.

Justice V. Ramasubramanian, Supreme Court judge virtually inaugurated the clinic in the presence of Supreme Court judges Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar and Justice P.S. Narasimha and Telangana High Court Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, the patron-in-chief of the TSLSA, and High Court judge Justice P. Naveen Rao.

A media statement issued by TSLSA said that the cultivation went on smoothly and the farmers can earn better returns from the agriculture and allied sectors when they understand the scope of the legislations, and benefits of the schemes and utilize them for redressal of their problems allied with cultivation.

It stated that there are various schemes, legislations, programs, and plans for the welfare and benefit of the farmers. Agricultural legislations are enacted to protect and safeguard the interests of the farming community Various welfare schemes and programs for the welfare and benefit of the farmers are also being enforced in the state in order to revitalize the agriculture sector and enhance the overall conditions of the farmers.

However, it recognized the benefits of these initiatives and schemes have not reached the majority of the farming community as visualized due to the lack of understanding and legal awareness.
