During an official tour to Europe to learn about new technologies in horticulture and agriculture, Dalal visited the Aalsmeer Flora Market in Holland and watched the online sale of flowers there. He was quite impressed with the technologies used in selling and buying flowers in the Flora market.

Hence, after coming back to India, the minister said that a modern, global-level flower market will be set up in Gurugram just like the Aalsmeer Flora Market.

The minister said, "This will help in boosting the income of flower producers across NCR, particularly Haryana."

He said “The Aalsmeer market receives over 44 million flowers from outside every day, and 30% of the auctions are attended by local people, while 70% of the auctions are attended by people from foreign nations. All flowers are being automatically and electronically auctioned off during this procedure.”

The agriculture minister added that a successful bidder makes the payment online before receiving delivery of the product.

He said that there is big air-conditioned hall for the maintenance and care of flowers, where the temperature is kept between 9 and 12 degrees.

He further "This flower trade sector has an approximate Rs 30,000 crore yearly turnover, and approximately 5,000 flower farmers and suppliers are involved in it. Creating such flower markets in Haryana will give people a better platform.”
