The celebration of colours known as Holi is observed nationwide. The event celebrates the arrival of spring and the end of winter. The holiday serves as a reminder of when good prevailed over evil.

Many regions of the nation observe Holi in different ways. People in Mathura and Vrindavan play Holi with flowers in addition to colours. In Vrindavan and Mathura, Phoolon wali Holi is very important for the Holi festivities.

Due to the widely held belief that Lord Krishna was born and lived most of his life in Vrindavan, Mathura, and the Braj area, Holi is a significant event for these regions. As a result, the entire region celebrates the holiday with great excitement and devotion. People from all around the world participate in the celebrations, which start far in advance of Holi Day.

Holika Dahan, on the other hand, is observed the day before Holi and honours the victory of good over evil. Demoness Holika is believed to have been burnt to ashes on this day. People lit bonfires on the eve of Holika Dahan to celebrate the victory of good. Before lighting bonfires, people do pooja, and there is an auspicious time to do so.

Holika Dahan 2023 Date and Time:

Holika Dahan will be observed on March 7 since Holi 2023 will be held on March 8. However, Holi will be celebrated in Maharashtra on March 7 and Holika Dahan on March 6.

Anyone doing the ceremony should make sure that they complete the pooja and other rituals during the 2 hours and 27 minutes that make up the Shubh Muhurat for Holika Dahan. The Shubh Muhurat for Holika Dahan will start on March 7 at 6:24 and finish at 8:51.

Puja Vidhi for Holika Dahan:

During the Holika Dahan rituals, sit with your back to the east and make sure you have all the essentials on hand, including water, roli, flowers, unprocessed yarn, jaggery, whole turmeric, moong, and gulaal, among others. Be careful to keep cow dung close to Holika in addition to these. After doing this, you can round Holika three, five, or seven times by wrapping the raw yarn around it.
