J-K's ACS Atal Dulloo Inaugurates Veterinary Hospital in Pattan to Boost Animal Care Services

Atal Dulloo urged the officers to ensure that all eligible and deserving farmers across the district benefit from the agricultural and allied sector schemes.

Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo, paid a visit to Pattan on Thursday i.e., May 18 where he inaugurated a Veterinary hospital and a mega fertility camp as part of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), according to an official release.

The event witnessed active involvement from progressive farmers, local women engaged in farming, young individuals, and various stakeholders, including notable figures such as Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, Director General of Sheep Husbandry Department, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Director of Animal Husbandry Kashmir, Poornima Mittal, Chief Executive Officer Livestock, Dr. Balbir Singh, SDM Pattan, and other dedicated officers.

Upon inaugurating the Veterinary hospital, Atal Dulloo emphasized that it would greatly enhance animal care and treatment in the area. He noted that the hospital, built at a cost of Rs 1.92 crore, would be equipped with modern amenities such as a drug store, medical facility, and an operation theatre, along with quarters for doctors and staff.

Additionally, he highlighted that the hospital would be furnished with sophisticated and state-of-the-art equipment, enabling the treatment of animals under the supervision of skilled doctors and professionals. During his visit, Atal Dulloo also inaugurated the Mega Fertility Camp, an essential component of the HADP aimed at addressing infertility issues among cattle. The release stated that cows and other animals would receive free hormonal treatment for various fertility-related problems during the camp.

Furthermore, the Additional Chief Secretary engaged in a brief interaction with local progressive farmers who were part of the HADP. He sought their feedback regarding their accomplishments in the agricultural sector. Atal Dulloo urged the officers to ensure that all eligible and deserving farmers across the district benefit from the agricultural and allied sector schemes. He emphasized that the administration of the UT prioritizes increasing productivity, production, and farmer income.

Expanding on his point, ACS Dulloo emphasized the significance of providing training to aspiring farmers, which should be a pivotal focus for the district administration.

The visit by ACS Atal Dulloo to Pattan marked the commencement of crucial initiatives aimed at enhancing veterinary services and resolving infertility problems among livestock in the region. With the implementation of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme, it is expected that farmers will receive the necessary support and guidance to improve productivity and increase their income, contributing to the overall growth and development of the agricultural sector in the district.
