myAadhaar Portal: UIDAI Offers Free Online Aadhar Document Updates till June 14

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has decided to allow residents to update documents in their Aadhaar online free of cost for the next three months.

Over the next three months, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will not charge citizens to update documents in their Aadhaar online.

The decision was reached as part of the Digital India initiative, and locals were invited to take advantage of the free document updating service on the myAadhaar platform. The free service will be offered for the next three months, from March 15 to June 14, but only on the myAadhaar portal. As earlier, it will cost Rs 50 to use the service at physical Aadhaar centres.

The UIDAI has been urging citizens to submit Proof of Identification and Proof of Address (PoI/PoA) papers to revalidate their demographic information, particularly if Aadhaar was issued more than ten years ago and was never updated. This will increase the success rate of authentication and contribute to better service delivery and increased convenience of life.

Residents have two options if they need to update their demographic information (Name, Date of Birth, Address, etc.): they may use the standard online update service or go to the local Aadhar centre. In these situations, standard fees will be charged.

Steps to Update Aadhaar Documents on the myAadhaar Portal

The user must follow the instructions below to update Aadhaar Documents on the myAadhaar Portal:

  • Go to the official website of myAadhaar Portal i.e., myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/

  • The homepage of the website will open on the screen

  • Click on the Login tab

  • The login page will open on the screen

  • Enter your registered mobile number

  • Now, enter the captcha code and click on the Send OTP button

  • An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number

  • Enter the received OTP to get logged in to your registered account

  • Once you are successfully logged in, the dashboard of your account will open on your screen

  • Now, click on the Document Update tab

  • Applicant's current information will display on the screen

  • Now, review and recheck all the details carefully

  • After that, upload the required details that need to be updated

  • Finally, click on the Submit button to save the changes
