During his visit, the chief minister is likely to meet with leading investors with the purpose of increasing foreign investment in Odisha.

According to sources, the CM-led team would highlight Odisha's investment potential and welcoming policies in sectors such as food processing, chemicals, plastics, and petrochemicals, as well as textiles, apparel, and tourism.

At the last two editions of Odisha's main business conference, Made in Odisha (MIO), Japan has been one of the country partners.

Odisha is far ahead of the national average of 22% in translating intents into actual investments, industry minister Pratap Keshari Deb told the legislature on Friday, with 45% of intents in the first two MIOs held in 2016 and 2018.

Answering to a question from BJD MLA Debi Prasad Mishra during question hour, the industries minister stated that Odisha has emerged as a favoured investment destination due to its political stability and favourable economic environment.

The Odisha Food Processing Policy, 2016, intends to promote the flow of investments in the sector from farm to market, increase self-life, and reduce farm product waste.
