Farm mechanization helps in increasing productivity as well as profitability in agriculture. There are many machines and equipment that can help farmers double their income including tractors.

Though tractors are very useful but small and marginal farmers find it difficult to buy them due to their high cost. Because of this, the majority of farmers are forced to do traditional farming with the help of bullocks.

Hence a tractor subsidy program has been implemented under which the farmers receive a 20 to 50 percent subsidy on the purchase of a tractor. Small farmers and those in financial difficulty can take advantage of this scheme.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Tractor Yojana 2022

Tractor Farmers who are struggling financially as well as small and marginal farmers will receive a 20–50% subsidy on the purchase of tractors under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Tractor Yojana 2022. While the GST and other associated costs must be covered by the farmers themselves under this program, the subsidy amount is paid on the cost of the tractor.

Farmers are invited to submit applications under this scheme from various state governments. They can purchase tractors for just half the cost if they apply for the tractor subsidy program.
