The Rabi crops in the Jaisalmer and Barmer regions have suffered greatly as a result of recent unseasonal rains and hail.

On Tuesday, a dust storm with rain and lightning began in the afternoon and lasted until late at night. Ramgarh, Mohangarh, Nachna, Fatehgarh, Pokaran, Lathi, Chandhan, and other locations in the Jaisalmer district have experienced medium to heavy rain.

The lightning in the region has caused livestock deaths in numerous locations.

Untimely rains and hail struck the area on Tuesday for the third day in a row, damaging ripened crops.

It is anticipated that up to 80 percent of the crops in the Jaisalmer region, including castor, isabgol, and gram, have been damaged.

Farmers are disappointed and concerned about repaying their bank debts after the severe damage to the crops. Farmers claimed that the unpredictable weather and sudden showers had a negative impact on their produce.

The farmers are now requesting that the government hold the 'girdwari' and reveal a relief package for them.

Hemaram Choudhary, the cabinet minister in the state government along with Kailash Choudhary, the union minister of state for agriculture, visited the affected areas and promised farmers that they would receive assistance as soon as possible.

In the fields, Minister Hemaram examined the crops that had been harmed. He claimed in a tweet that the majority of farmers had crop loss of 100 percent.

Meanwhile, Kailash Choudhary assessed the crop damage brought on by rain and hail and spoke with the affected farmers.

He said he ask CM Ashok Gehlot, to instruct the regional administrative officers to perform girdawari and obtain the report as soon as possible.

In order to provide relief to the affected farmers by releasing the compensation under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, he should also declare the state government's share of compensation and submit the report to the Centre as soon as possible, he added.
