His son Ankush has confirmed that he had Myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune condition caused due to impaired nerve-muscle communication. Early this year, he was admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Ankush reported that although his father was doing well with the medication, he passed away at around 4.30 am.
"My father left us. His condition, myasthenia gravis, was evident. He had mood swings for two-three days. After telling the caretaker he needed to use the restroom, he said he would like to sit down, and then he never got up," he said.
Arun Bali became popular in the 2000s for playing "grandfatherly" characters in TV serials like Kumkum's Harshvardhan Wadhwa, for which he won numerous awards. He also won a National Award as a producer as well.
Today, on Friday, his last movie, "Goodbye," which also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna, was released. He recently appeared in the Laal Singh Chaddha movie with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan as a fellow traveler who runs across Aamir Khan's character on the train.
Saugandh, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Khalnayak, Satya, Hey Ram, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, Ready, Barfi, Manmarziyaan, Kedarnath, Samrat Prithviraj, and Laal Singh Chaddha are a few of his well-known movies.
