Minority Rights Day
The National Commission for Minorities recognized Minority Rights Day, which is observed on December 18 each year. The Declaration on the Individual's Rights Belonging to Religious or Linguistic National or Ethnic Minorities was endorsed and broadcast by the United Nations on December 18, 1992. Minority Rights Day promotes awareness of these rights while upholding minorities' rights to freedom and fair opportunity in India.
