Government to Transform Agri Students into Entrepreneurs; Know Full Scheme

The Agriculture Department of Uttar Pradesh has started the ‘Agri Junction Scheme’. Under this scheme, students studying agriculture, dairy, or horticulture will become entrepreneurs. For this, agricultural trainees will be selected from all districts.

The Agriculture Department of Uttar Pradesh has started the ‘Agri Junction Scheme’. Under this scheme, students studying agriculture, dairy, or horticulture will become entrepreneurs. For this, agricultural trainees will be selected from all districts.

About the Scheme: 

Under the scheme, ‘Agri Junction Scheme,’ 1000 youth are prepared to be selected, provided they have done graduation in agriculture, dairy or horticulture, etc. and the age is up to 45 years.

One candidate will be benefited from every block of the state, if any youth in that block is not a graduate in agriculture etc., then an opportunity will be given to pass Inter or Diploma in Agriculture subject. In the districts, deputy director agriculture and bank officials will nominate the youth by taking the application form.

Apart from this, they will also get a free license to sell fertilizers, seeds, and medicines, etc. by providing them training to run the enterprise. Selected candidates will get loans from banks and the government will give subsidies on interest.

As per sources, the intention of the Agriculture Department, youth studying agriculture will also be able to give information regarding fertilizers, seeds, and medicines, etc. 

The selected will be given 12 days of training by the Rural Self-Employment Training Institute. In this, they will also be explained the business plan, so that they can become better entrepreneurs.

Each beneficiary will be given an assistance of Rs 4 lakh, in which they will have to invest Rs 50 thousand themselves, while a loan of Rs 3.5 lakh will be given from the bank. The Government would also give a grant of Rs 42,000 on the interest on the loan. 

Along with this, the government will also pay the rent of his shop (maximum one thousand rupees) for one year and the selected people can also sell other agricultural-related goods there.
