What is Kisan Credit Card (KCC)?

  • The Kisan Credit Card is issued by the banks. The main purpose of the government is to provide loans to the farmer for the purchase of all the agriculture items such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.

  • The second objective is that the farmers do not need to take moneylenders, who collect arbitrary interest. The loan which is taken under the Kisan Credit Card is cheaper by 2% to 4%, provided the loan is repaid on time.

Banks Process

Before giving the loan, banks verify the applicant farmer. In this, it is seen whether he is actually a farmer or not. Then they see his revenue record. Aadhar card & PAN Card, and photo are taken for identification. After this, an affidavit is taken that there is no due on any other bank.

Rebate Fees & Charges

The government has waived the fees & charges for making a Kisan Credit Card. The cost of getting KCC made is Rs 2,000 to 5,000. On the instruction of the government, the Indian Banks Association issued an advisory asking the banks to give an exemption in fees & charges.
