PM Modi Inaugurates India's Longest Cable-Stayed Bridge
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated India's longest cable-stayed bridge in Gujarat's Dwarka on February 25, 2024. The bridge called 'Sudarshan Setu', will connect Okha and Beyt Dwarka island

SUDARSHAN SETU

The bridge is four-lane 27.20-meter wide and has 2.50-meter-wide footpaths on each side. Its footpaths are adorned with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna on both sides

MYTHOLOGICAL LINKS

 Solar panels are installed on the upper portions of the footpath at the Sudarshan Setu which generates one megawatt of electricity

HARNESSING SOLAR POWER

Earlier called 'Signature Bridge', it was renamed as 'Sudarshan Setu' because it connects to Beyt Dwarka, island near to Dwarkadhish temple of Lord Krishna

RENAMING THE BRIDGE

PM Modi offered his prayers at the Dwarkadhish temple before inaugurating the bridge. And later he dived in the Arabian Sea to offer prayers at the underwater city of Dwarka

PRAYERS TO KRISHNA

PM also inaugurated Gujarat's first AIIMS in Rajkot. He also inaugurated four other newly built AIIMS in Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal
