Rajya Sabha Debut 

Sudha Murty, philanthropist & author, addressed key issues in India during her first speech in the Rajya Sabha, highlighted the need for proactive government action to address these challenges.

Cultural Heritage

Murty highlighted the potential of India's cultural heritage, proposing 57 domestic sites for World Heritage status. Iconic landmarks like the Bahubali statue & Lingaraja Temple were among those suggested.

Infrastructure Improvements

Murty called for improved infrastructure, including better roads and sanitation at tourist sites. She stressed that such enhancements would boost visitor experiences and generate revenue.

Addressing Critical Issues

Murty articulated concerns about rising prices, unemployment, and the struggles of farmers and women. She urged the government to prioritize comprehensive strategies for inclusive growth.

Health Initiatives

Murty advocated for a government-sponsored vaccination program to combat cervical cancer in young girls, highlighted the success of large-scale vaccination drives during the Covid-19 pandemic.
