The Notable Figure of Tractor Industry, Chandra Mohan Passes Away
The notable and prime face of Indian tractor industry Chandra Mohan, who steered Punjab Tractors Ltd (PTL) for more than three decades passed away in Chandigarh on Wednesday. Moreover, PTL which can be regarded as India’s first large scale venture based on indigenous technology changed the farming practices and modernized the local tractor industry in India.
The notable and prime face of Indian tractor industry Chandra Mohan, who steered Punjab Tractors Ltd (PTL) for more than three decades passed away in Chandigarh on Wednesday.
Moreover, PTL which can be regarded as India’s first large scale venture based on indigenous technology changed the farming practices and modernized the local tractor industry in India.
The 86 year old Padma Shri awardee Industrialist & technologist was the father of Rs.1500 crore groups which includes Swaraj Mazda; Swaraj Engines & Swaraj Automotives. Moreover, PTL was later taken over by Mahindra Group in 2007 and subsequently named Swaraj Division in 2009.
Swaraj tractor, which was started by Mohan in 1970, played a key role in India's green revolution and the agri-economy.
Moreover, Mohan was awarded the Padma Shri in 1985. He considered observation as the biggest asset of the entrepreneur.
“To understand the market, observation is the key. First, know your own strength and then observe the market,” the demise Industrialist had said.
