ASCI and NAARM Will Jointly Work for the Benefit of Farm Sector

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad at the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management.

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad at the ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management.

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) and Dr. S.K. Pattanayak, I.A.S. (Retd.), Director General, ASCI, Hyderabad inked the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

Dr. Mohapatra recalled the positive feedback from the Executive Development Program (EDP) organized at the international destinations jointly by the ICAR-NAARM and ASCI. He highlighted that the MoU provides a comprehensive framework for collaboration in the different areas. Dr. Mohapatra said that ICAR would hugely benefit from the experience and expertise of ASCI in capacity building through the MoU. He emphasized that the ASCI can bank on the diverse subject matter expertise available across the various ICAR institutions.

The Director General also indicated that the ICAR-NAARM, in its renewed mandate of being the think tank of ICAR, can work closely with the ASCI in terms of evolving the policies for the benefit of the entire farm sector & beyond. He accentuated that the MoU provides for the renewed focus and collaboration between both the organizations in the area of capacity building; designing customized training modules & immersion programmes; third party assessment of impact of technologies, institutions, training programmes and externally aided projects.

Dr. Pattanayak hoped that the MoU would establish connection with all the ICAR Institutions and Agricultural Universities and work on hitherto unexplored areas and domains.

Earlier, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM highlighted the initiatives undertaken as a part of the MoU between both the organizations.

The senior officials of ICAR-NAARM and ASCI were present during the occasion.
