On the occasion, Ajai Rana, CEO of Savannah Seeds Pvt Ltd, noted that Krishi Jagran is one of the first organizations to honor the international year of the millets and congratulated the entire team for hosting the event. He said, "I appreciate the initiative, and want to share with you how the seed industry is extremely critical for domestic millet production".

As the limiting factor for crop yields and the productivity of all other agricultural inputs used in farming, seed plays a crucial role in raising agricultural productivity. Quality seeds with high levels of germination, vigor, and viability, as well as genetic and physical purity, provide the potential for crop production under ideal and favorable agro-climatic circumstances, he added.

He further noted that Sorghum, pearl millet, and tiny millets are key food and fodder crops in semiarid regions, and they are primarily becoming more significant in a world that is getting more crowded, impoverished, and subject to significant climate uncertainty. Millions of dryland farmers, especially in developing nations, rely on these crops, which are adapted to a wide range of temperatures, moisture regimes, and input conditions, to provide them with food and feed.

As per its official website, Savannah is a leading technology-based rice company focused on developing smart rice with high yields and value-added traits, that focuses on discovering and delivering innovative products and crop management solutions to farmers, who feed the growing world population.

The Company drives sustainable food production through rice seed technology and makes a positive impact on farmers, employees, and stakeholders.
