KVIC Distributes Margin Money Grants & Bee Boxes in Kaithal, Haryana

In an event in Delhi, Manoj Kumar, Chairperson of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, distributed Rs. 245.61 crore in margin money grants to 9966 recipients under the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Program (PMEGP).

Banks have approved Rs. 739.65 crore for these beneficiaries to set up businesses under the plan. An estimated 79,728 persons will gain additional work as a result of these units. In addition, the Chairperson of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) distributed Rs. 26.45 crore in margin money grants to 803 recipients of the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Plan (PMEGP) Scheme at Kaithal, Haryana.

Banks have sanctioned Rs. 86.57 crore to these beneficiaries for the establishment of businesses under the PMEGP. These beneficiaries will employ about 6424 individuals through the establishment of these enterprises. He also presented 400 bee boxes to 40 trained beekeepers as part of the Honey Mission during his visit.

Speaking on the occasion, Kumar stressed the critical role of the PMEGP in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's goal of a self-sufficient India. He remarked that the Prime Minister's.

"Sweet Kranti" initiative is beginning to bear fruit as more farmers and companies enter the honey production industry. The Chairman further stated that beekeeping has raised farmer revenue and crop production by 25 to 30 percent. The Khadi and Village Industries Commission has been giving honey production training to farmers and jobless citizens as part of the Honey Mission, as well as distributing bee boxes.

Around 1 lakh 80 thousand bee boxes and bee colonies have been given by the Commission across the country, with over 18 thousand recipients trained. 4400 bee boxes have been delivered to 440 beneficiaries in Haryana alone.

At the Honey Mission discourse programme in Dayora village, the Chairman engaged with the beneficiaries and solicited their feedback. He also paid visits to the Khadi and Village Industries institutes and talked with representatives from both. Haryana government officials, KVIC staff, and local dignitaries attended the event.
