PM Kisan 17th Installment Release Authorized: PM Modi Signs 1st File After Swearing-In

PM Kisan 17th Installment Update: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after being sworn in for his third consecutive term, authorized the 17th instalment of the PM Kisan Nidhi scheme on June 10, 2024. This marks his first official action since taking office again, benefiting 9.3 crore farmers and distributing approximately Rs 20,000 crores.

"Ours is a Government fully committed to Kisan Kalyan. It is therefore fitting that the first file signed on taking charge is related to farmer welfare. We want to keep working even more for the farmers and the agriculture sector in the times to come," said PM Modi after authorizing the release.

The 16th instalment, amounting to over Rs 21,000 crore, was disbursed to more than 9 crore farmers in February 2024. This followed the 15th instalment, which was distributed on November 15, 2023.

Farmers must complete their e-KYC to receive PM-KISAN instalments. This can be done through OTP-based eKYC on the PM-KISAN Portal or by visiting the nearest Common Service Centres (CSC) for Biometric-based eKYC.

The government has allocated a budget of Rs 1.27 lakh crore for the Ministry of Agriculture for the fiscal year 2024-25, slightly higher than the current fiscal, as outlined in the Interim Budget documents. The full budget is expected to be announced in July 2024.
