Weather Update: Mild Weather Across India, with Heavy Rain Forecasted for Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka

Most of India will experience calm weather this week, with isolated heavy rainfall expected in parts of Odisha, Goa, and South Peninsular regions. Coastal areas in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka should prepare for thunderstorms on November 1 and 2.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather update for the upcoming week, highlighting generally calm weather across most of the country. While no significant changes are expected nationwide, isolated heavy rainfall is likely in parts of Odisha, Konkan, Goa, and sections of the southern peninsula.

Weather Systems at Play

The upper air cyclonic circulation that was present over south Odisha and the north Andhra Pradesh coast yesterday has shifted to south Chhattisgarh and adjoining Odisha regions. This system extends up to the middle tropospheric level, with a southward tilt. This shift is expected to influence isolated heavy rainfall in certain regions.

South Peninsular India will experience scattered rainfall in the coming days, with a possibility of isolated thunderstorms and lightning in some areas.
