Agriculture
Agriculture is the practice of cultivating crops or keeping livestock. A person who works in the agriculture sector is a farmer.
Agri, which means "field," and cultura, which means "cultivation," make up the Latin root of agriculture. Agriculture generally refers to the planting and cultivation of food plants on a plot of land. Agriculture also includes raising animals for their meat or milk. Without agriculture, we would all be running around the woods, picking berries and trying to shoot things.
Synonyms: Farm cultivation.
