Perennial

In agriculture, there is a perennial plant that lives for more than two years and generally emerges each spring due to the same root system producing blooms and seeds. Perennial is derived from the Latin perennis, which combines the prefix per-, which means "through," and annus, which means "year." Annus is also the source of the word annual, which refers to plants that survive for only one year or season.
