Save Your Crops This Monsoon

As the monsoon has arrived it’s better to be well prepared and set our gears because excess water or rainfall can also damage your crops. Indian monsoon cycle is an unpredictable one, in these situations the best we can do for our crops is to try and save them by a few methods.

Heavy rainfall every year impacts the crop and ends up damaging a large portion of it. But don’t you worry, we are here to prepare you for the rain!

Too much direct water can saturate the plants not leaving space for them to breathe which ends up killing them.

How to take care of your crops during monsoon?

Set Proper Drainage System

Usually, the rainwater gets collected inside the field, drowns the roots, and damages the plant. A planned drainage system could make way for the excess water to flow.

Examine Your Plants

After or during rainfall take a close look at all your plants and cut out the ones you feel look weak or brown, this way you save the damage from spreading.

Rain Covers

Rain covers are basically fabrics to cover your crops so that the rainwater doesn’t reach them directly. A direct solution to save your crops from excess water is to cover them.

Some Support & Care

Rain with winds could further damage the tender plants and break them, to avoid this it is advisable to install a wooden stake really close to your plant and tie them together with a string. This way when the winds blow the plant is supported by the stake.

There is no bigger sorrow than a failed harvest or a damaged crop! This monsoon be prepared and take care of your crops by these precautions because after all, it all goes down to saving what we sow!
