Honey mead business

If you want success or want to win then difficulties doesn’t matter. Today we are going to tell you about two friends who started their mead business and now have created their brand ‘Sirana Mead’.

Now big companies are eagerly waiting to work with them. Sirana company owner Ashwini Deore and Yoginee Budhkar share their experience with Krishi Jagran in Farmer the Brand Facebook live program.

You know about honey right but do you know about alcohol made from honey. Yes, Sirana ferments honey and produces alcohol. This idea is new in India but Ashwini and Yoginee made it successful.

Currently, only nine persons are working in this new startup company. But 50 -100 people will join soon to our company, the two said. Producing alcohol from honey is a new idea for us.

Ashwini & Yoginee had to wait for 8 months to getting permission from the ministry. But they didn’t give up, in fact they got good support from their families. They said that if you want success then moral support is most important which our family gives us.

The main objective behind this business is to give a big boost to the beekeeping business in India and benefit the farmers. In addition it will be helpful in making a sustainable alcoholic beverage. The Company’s Main Product is Mead, Mead is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting the honey.

Mead is made by fermenting honey in the same way as beer is made from malted barley, wine from fruit. There are different types of mead such as:

1. Mead which is made by fermenting honey.

2. Melomel is made by fermenting honey.

3. Metheglin is made by fermenting honey and spices.

As these products are new in our country so its demand is more, people in the age group of 25-50 years is our main customers, they added.
