The citrus fruit has several benefits to our health and immune system as it is a rich source of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and antioxidants.  Today we will tell you about the benefits of Pomelo fruit.

Benefits of Pomelo 

Prevent Cellular Damage 

The fruit contains vitamin C is a powerful immune-boosting antioxidant. It thus helps to prevent cellular damage from harmful compounds like free radicals. 

Regulate Blood Pressure 

Pomelo is packed with vitamins and minerals, which include potassium and copper. The presence of potassium helps to regulate fluid balance and blood pressure of the human body. 

Prevent Constipation and Urologic Diseases 

As people want to get at least 25 grams of fiber per day, the consumption of one pomelo which is loaded with six grams of fiber is the best way to meet the need. The fiber content foods help to prevent constipation. Pomelo consists high level of antioxidants, polyphenols, and fibers that are beneficial for a range of chronic conditions and cure urinary problems. 

Good For Weight Loss 

Intake of pomelo helps to reduce weight as it is a fewer calorie fruit.  One peeled pomelo that contains 230 calories is a comparatively low-calorie food. The fiber and protein in the fruit are able to make a feeling of fullness. It is thus, the fruit deduct the calorie intake and causes loss weight.  

Boost Heart Health 

The citrus fruit lowers the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides. These blood fats are related to heart disease. Pomelo reduces triglyceride levels by up to 21 percent, total cholesterol up to 6 or 7 percent, and LDL cholesterol which is known as bad cholesterol by up to 41 percent. 

Prevent Spread of Cancer 

The fruit from the lemon family kills cancer cells and it is a boost to the immune system. Naringenin, the antioxidants widely distributed in citrus fruits, especially in pomelo, helps to kill prostate and pancreatic cancer cells. It thus decelerates the spread of lung cancer. 

Cures from common cold and Dengue fever 

Consumption of pomelo decreases the feeling of exhaustion and fatigue due to some viral flu-like Dengue. Being a rich source of nutrients, minerals, and vitamins C, the fruit helps to cure the pain, which is a post- dengue effect. It helps to increase the production of white blood cells and boost our immunity.
