KOEL, Kirloskar Oil Engine Ltd, a market leader in power generating set manufacturers launched their latest product range of technologically advanced intelligent DG (diesel generators) in Delhi. The range is called i-Green series.
In an interaction with Krishi Jagran, Mr. Sanjeev Nimkar, Chief Operations Officer, KOEL stressed on the need for innovating products with Smart technology. He called the range ‘Thinking gensets’, regarding them as ‘gensets with a brain.’
“At Kirloskar we’ve taken an oath that from February onwards, we won’t like to sell any genset to our customers without a brain,” he said.
Stating that Customer centricity is the heart of every innovation at KOEL, he told that the product comes with several in-built features like remote monitoring of DG set. “Today is the time of smart, why not give the customers the comfort of smart gensets. If people are having iPhone, they should have i-green to support it” he said.
Mr. Nimkar explained that the remote control monitoring feature shall allow monitoring of the set transcending the barrier of place and multiple people can access the parameters on the control panel through an app on their mobile phones. The sensors in the genset give messages to the control room, service center and maintenance manager of the consumers. The DG actually does a self- diagnosis and reports problems electronically to the control room, safeguarding itself against any possible fatal eventualities.
The set comes within built AMF panel which means that the set will switch on once the grid power is off and switch off once the grid power is on. This is the standard offering in all models right from 5kVA onwards and is the distinguishing feature of the new range.
Specifically talking about the term ‘Green’, the COO mentioned that the sets are environment friendly and adhere to the highest pollution norms not just in the country but the world. Also, the range promises a new look to the gensets in sync with company’s commitment to greener environment.
Describing the green canopy, he said that appearance of the canopy has been beautified such that the gensets can now move to the forefront against the tradition of them being kept in the backyards. He mentioned that the new range includes various sets from 5KVA to 160kVA and all new features are offered at the same price as that of the old ones.
