The ICAR-National Institute for Plant Biotechnology (NIPB) has announced walk-in-interviews for the recruitment of Senior Research Fellows (SRF) under the project titled "Enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security with genome editing tools." This project, funded by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), aims to address crucial challenges in agriculture through innovative genome editing techniques.
Project Details
Under the project, successful candidates will work towards enhancing climate resilience and ensuring food security by leveraging genome editing tools. The project's duration spans one year from the date of appointment or termination, with the possibility of extension. A total of 19 SRF positions are available, with the likelihood of additional posts.
Eligibility Criteria
Interested candidates must possess a Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Science, Botany, Genetics, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology, or Microbiology. For candidates with a 3-year Bachelor's degree and a 2-year Master's degree, NET qualifications and two years of research experience are required.
Desirable Qualifications
Candidates with research experience in plant molecular biology, gene cloning, plant transformation, tissue culture, and wet lab work will be preferred. Evidence of such experience through publications, fellowships, associateships, or training will strengthen the application.

They are required to bring two copies of the application form, along with self-attested copies of educational qualifications, experience certificates, publications, and other relevant documents. Original documents must also be presented for verification.

Interview Details
Eligible candidates will receive the interview link via email. Those attending the walk-in-interviews must report at least 60 minutes before the scheduled time to familiarize themselves with the interview protocol. The tentative date for interviews is April 25, 2024, at 11:00 am, at the LBS Building, Pusa Campus, New Delhi.
Age Limit and Relaxation
The upper age limit for male candidates is 35 years and for female candidates is 40 years. Age relaxation for OBC Non-Creamy layer/SC/ST/PH candidates will be applicable as per Government of India rules.
Temporary Engagement
Selected candidates will be engaged on a purely temporary basis, subject to termination with one month's notice due to any change in circumstances. They will have no right to claim employment or engagement in ICAR at the end of the contract period.
