JRF/Project Associate-I Post at ICAR-IARI, New Delhi

The Division of Genetics at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, is inviting applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) or Project Associate-I position. This role is part of a DBT-funded research project titled “Germplasm Characterization and Trait Discovery in Wheat Using Genomics Approaches and Its Integration for Improving Climate Resilience, Productivity, and Nutritional Quality”. The position is purely contractual.

Position Details

  • Title: JRF/Project Associate-I

  • Number of Positions: 1

  • Fellowship: Rs. 31,000 per month + 24% HRA

  • Project End Date: February 28, 2025 (extension subject to DBT approval)

  • Essential Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Genetics, Plant Breeding, Genetics and Plant Breeding, or Agricultural Biotechnology

    • Postgraduate degree in basic sciences (Botany and allied sciences) selected through:

      1. National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship, GATE)

      2. National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies (e.g., DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER) as per DST guidelines (SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019)

  • Desirable Experience: Research experience in wheat breeding and bioinformatics

Eligibility and Age Limit

Candidates must be under 35 years of age. Age relaxation of 3 years is available for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST and female candidates as per Government and ICAR guidelines. The minimum age requirement is 18 years as of the interview date.
